September 1, 2026

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We are happy that you have chosen Oakview Preparatory School to provide your child with a well-rounded Christian education. At Oakview, we strive for excellence in all that we do and are committed to the total development of each student—spiritually, physically, socially and emotionally. Thank you for your commitment to Seventh-day Adventist Christian education. At the beginning of each month, we will share important updates in the monthly letter. Please take note of the following:

1. September 2 – Students will receive guidelines regarding the Multiplication/Division Challenge and the STEM Exposition. The first round of the Multiplication/Division Challenge will be on Thursday, October 1.

2. September 3 – Our Field Day/School Picnic will be held at Trevor Park. The cost is $10 per student, which covers the park fees and transportation. Student should wear the gym uniform and bring a sack lunch.

3. September 7 – School will be closed in observance of Labor Day.

4. September 23 – Mid-term progress reports will be distributed to the students.

5. September 24 – Apple Picking Trip to Hurds Farm. We will give permission slips to students this Friday, September 4.

6. September 26 – Selected voices from the senior choir will perform at the Foster Triplets fundraising concert that will be held in Hartford, Connecticut. All are invited to attend. You may purchase tickets in the office. Ticket prices: adults - $35, children under 12 - $10, VIP - $55

7. September 30 – Due date for orchestra application. Students will have the opportunity to learn to play one of the following instruments: violin, guitar, keyboard, saxophone, cello, ukelele, recorder, or trumpet. Music classes will begin on Wednesday, October 7.

8. Parents, please make sure that you sign in on Jupiter. Pertinent information is shared on Jupiter regularly.

9. Aftercare is provided for parents who are unable to pick up their children by 3:30 PM. At present, there is no charge for aftercare. Please ensure that your child is picked up by 4:45pm.

10. School Lunch – A monthly lunch menu will be provided at the beginning of each month. The cost of the school lunch is $4.50 for students in grades Pre-K – grade 3 and $5.00 for students in grades 4 – 8. Payments may be made via Zelle to: 914-433-0332 (Carolyn Saunders)

11. All Fridays – Dismissal takes place at 12:30pm. Students have the option of dressing down for a $2 participation fee. School lunch is always pizza on Friday—cheese pizza is 3:00 per slice.

12. Later this month, the students will receive a fundraising packet from Miss Chocolate. We ask for your full participation in this and all fundraising efforts.

13. We will begin “Friendzy”, a social-emotional program on Monday, September 14.

14. Please remember that tuition payments are due on the first day of each month.

May God continue to bless you as we work together to educate the students for here and eternity.

Sincerely,

Judith White; Principal
