Welcome

Homework is an integral part of the school program and lessons. Homework is designed to supplement, complement, and reinforce classroom teachings and learning. 

All students attending school in New York State must comply with the requirements for immunization. Children may be exempted for religious and/or medical reasons only. 

Uniforms are required for classes at all times. Gym attire and sneakers are required for Physical Education classes. “Non-scuff” shoes are required for gymnasium activities.

The OPS school system believes that technology is a powerful and important medium for information sharing, connecting millions of computers from all over the world. 

The school encourages students’ lunches to conform to Adventist Health Standards. This excludes all pork products, shellfish, coffee, and drinks containing caffeine. 

 Extra-curricular activities and special performances throughout the year provide our students with the opportunity to develop abilities outside the academic routine. 

Recognition is an important component of any quality school program.  Oakview students have opportunities to receive various awards, recognition or induction into national clubs.

Students, upon arrival on school days, congregate in the school's lunchroom, where they are supervised until 8:15 am, after which they are dispatched to their classes.

Along with commitment to the academic framework, we are also dedicated to the task of restoring the three forgotten “Rs”: Reverence, Respect, and Responsibility
